On behalf of the Organizing Committee of the 77th Korean Congress of Radiology (KCR 2021), it is my great honor and pleasure to invite you to KCR 2021 to be held from September 1 (Wed) to 4 (Sat), 2021 in Seoul, Korea.
The world is still going through an unprecedented period, with the prolonged COVID-19 pandemic thrusting everyone into an era of the New Normal. But thanks to the concerted efforts of everyone concerned, we have now entered a “distancing in daily life” phase whereby we may practice disease prevention while picking up on our economic and social activities and resuming our daily lives.
As such, KCR 2021 will be held as a hybrid congress whereby participants will be able to attend sessions on-site with the option of participating on-line should they prefer to. Interaction is a key element in maintaining a strong bond between the members of our radiology community, and must continue to be fostered. Although we may not be able to see everyone face to face this time, we are preparing a rich program that participants can fully engage in and enjoy whichever way they may choose to join us. We will, of course, continue to monitor the COVID-19 situation closely, and follow all government-recommended quarantine guidelines to ensure the safety and wellbeing of all our participants.
With the start of my presidency, KCR proposed a new theme: “Leading patient-centered digital healthcare.” It seeks to emphasize the importance of taking patient-centered initiatives in the digital age in order to prepare for the future and strengthen our competitiveness.
In line with the above, the Organizing Committee is designing the best possible program with high quality scientific sessions that will provide a great opportunity for all participants to keep up-to-date with the latest research findings. To serve this purpose, KCR 2021 is planning to invite about 40 world renowned scholars from over 10 countries along with distinguished radiology experts from Korea. Among them, Dr. Howard B. Fleishon (Emory Johns Creek Hospital) will speak at the Congress Lecture, and Dr. Regina Beets-Tan (The Netherlands Cancer Institute), Dr. Noriyuki Tomiyama (Osaka University Graduate School of Medicine), and Dr. Jae Hyoung Kim (Seoul National University Bundang Hospital) will deliver Plenary Lectures.
It is the wish of the Korean Society of Radiology (KSR), the organizing society of KCR, to have the privilege to share its experience and knowhow with colleagues from all over the world through KCR 2021. We will devote our utmost effort to prepare a most meaningful and enjoyable hybrid congress for on-line and on-site participants alike.
Please stay safe and healthy until we meet you at KCR 2021!
Sincerely yours,
Jeong Min Lee, MD, PhD
